Happy girls, happy boys
Allegro (front) and Pavarotti (behind) are lapping up the attention from their new owners, Sam, Ali, Marcus and the rest of the family (out of picture).
After considerable research into alpaca ownership by Marcus and Ali, we farewell our boys as they head off to be well loved as foundation members of a new herd.
Double Delight
ADORE is pleased to announce two new arrivals today!
ADORE Mali was born to Canchones Mahiranih from Canchones Zanzibar this morning in a text book birth. She is black, soft and lustrous, and looks like she has been romping in the lush grass for a week.
And this evening we came home to Pasilla in the process of delivering ADORE Excalibur from Hunter Excel. At a whopping 9 kilograms he needed a helping hand into the world but early indications he is looking the goods from his Supreme bloodlines.
Celebrating a New Arrival
Lesley, Tom, Dave, Melinda and James are thrilled with the arrival of a healthy dark brown boy sired by our Morroco. Sophia (pictured below) is thrilled to bits with another baby in the family.
This cute little lad with very lustrous fleece was born to Peanut who was purchased pregnant as part of a new breeder’s package.
Twin Birthday Twins
ADORE is very pleased to announce the birth of our first dorper lambs for a very special reason. From left to right we welcome Jolly (the jumbuck), Wally, Dolly (not the clone – an original) and Molly.
First to arrive Dolly and Molly were born on Sophie’s birthday. On Angus’s birthday we thought he would have to be content with Wally, but several hours later Jolly appeared (head only) and took a bit of work to get extracted, fortunately fighting fit.
We have the dorpers as a biological control for fireweed which is toxic to most stock, alpacas in particular, and endemic in our area.
Jolly and Wally will probably end up in the freezer unless they get a better offer. We will be looking to exchange Dolly and Molly for other pure bred dorper ewes that we can join with their father.
Expressions of interest by email welcome.
